The modern Sandboxie UI has replaced by the "Files and Folders" view to a separate window which can be opened form the box context menu. The recovery log is no longer a separate window but a tab at the bottom (visible when that the "Advanced View" is chosen). The "View" menu offers a few more functions, and the option to enable a simplified view mode. To copy a existing box configuration the "Duplicate Sandbox" menu comand can be used. (See the following unit.) Copying Sandbox Configuration The feature to copy an existing box can be found now on another place. Unlike in classic here a box type preset can be selected. The "Create New Box" command opens the new box dialog. File and Sandbox MenusĪll important menu commands can be found in similar places, although some have been moved. If the "Advanced View" is chosen there are three additional tabs on the bottom of the window ("Sbie Messages" etc.), so it corresponds with what can be seen in the right picture. The over all layout of the main window of sandman.exe is exactly the same as the old one of sbiectrl.exe when the "Simple View" is chosen. If the file is created by any other process then is fine and only an unique notification is shown, but any file that is created by explorer.exe have two notifications at the same time. This guide shows where all the known sandboxie functions can be found in the new UI. so "AutoRecover=n" turns in to "AutoRecover=y" and now uncheck it again and the setting is totally removed instead of turning back to "N".ĭon't know if this is the intended behaviour but looked weird so wanted to bring it here just in case it interest you even if it isn't something important.Īnother weird thing is that for some reason Immediate Recovery is duplicating the notification of an eligible file for recovery if the file was written by explorer.exe. ini setting of that box is "AutoRecover=n" now go to, check Enable Immediate Recovery. Something similar happen with new Default boxes. both settings are deleted instead of just "Y" and leaving "N". ini:īeing "Y" the active/functional one, and if you go to and uncheck Enable Immediate Recovery. Hey David, I think I've found a possible bug in the way File Recovery works?īasically the default sandboxie.ini setting for File Recovery is Disabled "AutoRecover=n" but when you create a new box and use the and that box have the setting File Recovery Enabled "AutoRecover=y" the newly created box have both settings applied at the same time on the. what i have set up is a forced folder on my downloads, firefox is not running sandboxed. What might possible is to set up a direct access to your download folder but this could probably answer bo to you, i do not use this setting. And i dont think that David can change it. This is just the experience from tracking firefox and sandboxie and currently no one is able to change this behavior. firefox behavior is correct, the rest is sandboxie. there exist no cache access from firefox between these actions, otherwise i had to assume firefox recreates it from cache which it is not. This is enough to initiate sandboxie to copy files on access back into sandbox.įirefox access my downloads folder, then sandboxie recreate the file(s) in the box because of access. after this only open the download doorhanger as you showed us. again clear only cache (ctrl+shift+del) clear cache, history and download-history (ctrl+shift+del) you can use ProcessMonitor (sysinternals) to track this behavior. If they reappear when you open the doorhanger (clicking the button) or navigate to firefox downloads (library) firefox access that files and this initiate sandboxie to copy (!) it back into the sandbox. Downloads still exists where they have been downloaded, and firefox do NOT repeat downloads on its own (even not direct or from cache)ĭescribes "move", so the files where moved to your user download folder as desired. That switch empties the doorhanger (download button).
